Please can you give me some feedback on the Codecademy work you have done in CS with me and Mr Nichol What tutorials have you completed, three good things, one area for development etc thanks
I prefer doing it this way as to printing off sheets and copying it directly as it explains everything and what everything does like syntax and what certain tags do. Before I could put together some code but feel that this way I understand what I'm putting together.
Codeacademy is pretty good, builds you up Doesn't stretch you at points where you could be a bit fancy... Guess that isn't what it is trying to teach though. And also there are cool badges and profile images!
Codeacedemy is much better then print out sheets as even though they are both a way of learning, CodeAcedemy recaps what we have learnt very quickly. Also challenges your mind to try and remember the code and correct way of sequencing it.
It was a pretty simple way to improve my coding skills and I got through the task very quickly, I would have liked it if they had skipped out some of the extremely easy parts of this.
I like code academy more than just coping off a piece of paper, because it more easy to follow and more fun.I love the way its interactive as you can see what happening while you code. Maybe they could add different types of code such as Objective-C or Lua
Codeacademy is really helpful because it teaches you the basics and puts it into a easy and simple manor to understand, i prefer it over getting given sheets and just copying code form them because i get badges and it makes sure you cant just cheat your way around it, also you need to make sure your code is correct and it feels really rewarding when you get past a stage.
IT is good but very frustrating because it points out things, then doesn't tell were it is so i spent 40 minutes trying to fix something which it allowed through previously, so i din't bother looking at the section the error is in.
I think codeacademy is a good way to learn code, however it is sort of based around web-dev at the moment. If it stretched to other languages like C++ or Java then that would be awesome.
i like this because i think it is better then a sheet of paper and you can do this one without rushing and you can do this at home with ease.
