Memory

Volatile Memory

This is a type of computer memory that will only keep its data as long as the power stays on. When the power is switched off, all the data is gone.
An example of volatile memory is RAM - Random Access Memory.

Non Volatile

It is a type of memory that does not require power to keep its data intact.
For example ROM - Read Only Memory will retain its data even with the power switched off.
